Lili of the Valley Wedding Card

Good morning

Hmmmm, Not sure where yesterdays post went, its not even in drafts, so will have to sort that our later :)

Today I would like to share with you a card I have made for the Lili of the Valley Lili's Little Fairies Challenge. This week the challenge was 'Peaches and Cream'.

I have made an 8x8" scalloped edge Wedding Card.

The backing paper is from the First Edition pad J'Adore.
The image is the Wedding Couple stamp from Lili of the Valley.
This was coloured with Promarkers.
The Die cut using Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Rectangles.
The paper behind the image is from Lili of the Valley Country Ladie paper pad.
The gorgeous Lace was from my stash, al;thoug I gently inked it with Tea Die Distress Ink.
The flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Finally the Butterfly was from Prima. This was inked gently with Tea Die distress Ink as I felt it was too Stark White on the card.

I would like to enter this card into the Lilis Little Fairies Challenge - Peaches and Cream
and also the Cutie Pie Challenge - Pastel Colours.

Something Different from me.

Hello there

Sorry been missing for a couple of days, had the dreaded lurgy. Hoping that I have seen the back of it for now.

Today I would like to share with you a card that I have made recently.
Someone was asking me about making up a card and where do I start? Hmmm tricky as I don't have a formula as such. Sometimes I start with the image, sometimes I start with the papers and sometimes I start with an idea of how I want the card to be before I sit down.

So I though back to when I was first starting out making cards and what I did then.

Most of my cards were just an image coloured in or a topper stuck onto patterned paper.
Then I found nesties and fell in love with them. They cut, emboss and stencil the edges of your die cuts. So I started gently inking through the die to give a softer finish to the topper.
Then I started getting a bit braver and experimenting with contrasting panels as a border or just as a feature. Here I used two strips from coordination papers within the range. I tend to do this as I know then that all the colours will coordinate well.

Then I started adding flourishes and other bits and pieces like the green organza ribbon. The green flourishes were die cut using a marianne die.
The I put the finishing touches on, usually flowers and leaves if it is a girly card or, twine, ribbon and maybe buttons for a more masculine version.
On this one I have also added the smallest of the die cuts as a place to add a sentiment.

Well there you have it, how I build up my cards. Or at least how I did this one :)

Little Blossom

Good morning

Today I want to share with you another stamp from Lili of the Valley, this is Blossom.

Again I have used a 6x6" card blank. The backing paper is from the Promises paper pad.

The image was coloured with promarkers and then die cut using Nesties Labels 9. The mat for the image was also cut from labels 9. I then used simple strips of the matching paper matted onto the same lilac card to create a bit of interest. The sentiment was stamped into a piece of card which was also cut with labels 9. The sentiment hasn't shown up very well, but reads Because You're Special.

A few perals in the corners just to set it off.

More Kanban

Good Morning

Today i would like to share with you two card which I made from a Kanban Topper Sheet from the Sugar Buttons range.

Both cards are made on a 7x5" card blank. For these the images are so cute and already glittered they didn't need a lot of embellishing. The background paper is from the Lili of the Valley Bonnets and Bowties pad.

This is the inside of the card, I used a strip of the matching paper and put the sentiment topper on this.

The second card was made up in the same way, using a backing paper from Lili of the Valley and just the sparkly topper.

Again I used the sentiment topper inside the card with a strip of the matching paper.

The image was stamped onto white card with promarkers and then die cut with my Spellbinders Resplendant Rectangles, whilst still in the die I gently inked the image with Milled Lavender Distress ink.
I then Die cut the largest of the Resplendant rectangle die using the same lilac card stock.

A stamp from Nellies

Good morning

Today I would like to share with you a card made with a new stamp from the Dawn's Stamps collection from Nellie Snellen.

The card is a 6x6" square, the backing paper is from First Edition Spring Feast pad. The image was then die cut useing nesties labels 26 and was supposed to have been matted onto a larger Labels 26 in pink. Only problem being, I die cut the wrong size, so I turned it through 90 degrees and now I think I prefer it. The flourish if one of the Marianne Dies as is the circle at the top left hand side.

The sentiment is from a stamp set by Kaisercraft stamoed onto the smallest Labels 26 die.

A Memo Block Holder

Good Morning

Today I would like to share with you a memo block holder I amde during a workshop with the wonderfully talented Gwen at  The Stamp Pad in Saddleworth.

I was really looking forward to the workshop, even though I didn't know what we would be making and what it would entail !

We started off with 1mm Greyboard, and some Graphic 45 Kraft Reflections card and some tacky glue.

Then we ended up with this :-

To make this we measured the size of the memo block and then added a few mm's each way to ensure the block would fit. We then cut the greyboard to this size. We then cut four sides 3cm deep and the same width  as the size of the block plus 1mm (for the width of the board). We then covered the pieces, with the exception of the inside of the sides, and then glued together. We then stuck the inside pieces in and then cut the piece of greyboard for the back. For this we used the Tim Holtz Movers and shapers die. We then used the same die to cut 2 covers from the same Kraft clock paper. The we glued it all together.

This is such a great idea and could be made to look so different by using different coloured papers.

Good Morning

Hello there

Today I would like to share with you another card made using another Lili of the Vally stamp. This image is of Rosie with Presents.

I have made this on a 6x6" card blank, which I cut from a Purple sheet of 12 x 12" bazzill. I then used the remainder of the card for my matting and layering to coordinate.
The backing paper is a lilac sheet which I had in my stash, it has words all over it saying Springtime, Blissful etc.
The message was stamped using a Lili of the Valley sentiment stamp. There is a circular doily behind the image (although this doesn't show up very well on the picture.
The card was finished of with three purple nailheads in top right and bottom left hand corner.

Good morning

Well I don't know what happened to yesterdays post, it must have got lost!

Today I would like to share with you a project I made a while ago. I had bought a SarasBinder small book which came with inserts and dividers.

If I had been clever I would have taken a photo as it came, before I decorated it :)

This is front cover, I painted the notebook with a paint called White Chocolate :) mmmmmmmm
Then I used a paper collection from Basic Grey called Urban Prairie. This came as a free gift from a craft amagzine ages ago, and I kept didn't really like it but kept it anyway. When I found it again during a tidyup in the middle of a few dark winter days it really looked cheerful so I decided to use it.

For both of the inside covers I used the same yellow paper and then attached some more over the top to make pockets. I have edged the one on the inside front with a strip of paper from another sheet from the range.

The birdies on the left hand pocket and also on the first divider were hand cut from a sheet of the paper. The birds were gorgeous, but I felt that as the paper was very dark, it didn't quite go with the rest so I chopped it up instead!

Each of the dividers have been covered with papers from the same range and edged with red Distress ink.

With the basic kit you also got a couple of pockets This one I stamped around the edge with a flourish stamp and tehn cut a panel from the papers to go in the middle.

This is the back of the pocket which I also stamped. The inside back page pocket wascut at an angle and esged with one of the border stickers which came from the pack. The swirl at the top also came from the sheet of stickers.

This is an envelope which I also decorated to match.

I hope you have enjoyed this little project as a change from my cards.
