A Challenge Card

Hello there

Today I would like to share with you a card I have made for the challenge over at Wild Orchid. I am loving their flowers and things. The theme was 'Make it sparkle with Stars'. Here is my entry.
This card was made using a Lili of the Valley die cut, matted onto red card stock. The corners were punched with a corner punch which makes a lips shape. The paper is from Craftwork Cards Christmas Warren collection, matted onto the same red card stock. The angels wings and head dress were glittered with glamour dust. The flowers were plain red flowers which had the stickles treatment!. Some small red gems top right and   bottom left. The stars on the background were all glittered as well.
I really enjoyed this challenge from Wild Orchid, may be the first of many!

Guess what I have up to?

Hi there

Well I have been playing with some die cuts recently. My youngest son came home and told me that it was his friends birthday soon and could I make a card for him. When I asked when the birthday was, he wasn't sure if it was tomorrow or next month! ! So I quickly made this card so he can put it in his bag ready!

The card is a Lili of the Valley die cut of a little boy on a rope and his dog.
I have matted and layered the papers with Dark Blue card stock. I stamped the LOTV ticket stamp and used the word PLAY. Candy dots top right, one bottom left and one attaching the ticked balance it quite well I thought. I also used the LOTV sentiment stamp and layered this onto a scalloped nestie circle.

I hope he appreciates this!

More Warren

Hi There

Today I would like to show you some more Christmas cards I made with the fabby Warren from Craftwork Cards.
This first card is a 6" scalloped square card blank I have put a strip of the green Carol paper down the right hand side and trimmed it top and bottom to match the card. Then I took 3 of the small die cut shapes with Warren in different poses, edged them in green distress ink and stuck 2 onto the paper strip and the third onto the white section of the card blank. Then I added 6 card candi and a Merry Christmas topper. Quite a straight forward card, but cute never the less.

This next card is a standard A6 card blank. I trimmed about 1" from the right hand side of the card front. Inside the card I stuck a strip of the red patterned paper. Then I cut one of the Banners in half and attached top and bottom of the card. Then I trimmed another piece of the green patterned paper to the front. A small die cut warren image and then a small topper to which I added a sentiment finish off this card.

I hope you enjoy these. I have some more to make!

Cutie Pie Challenge

Good Morning

I have found a new Challenge whilst blog hopping this weekend. It is the 'Cutie Pie Challenge'. This was right up my street as at the moment this is what most of my cards tend to be.
This was the sketch we had to work from and this is my take on it.
Once again I have used one of the Lili of the Valley die cuts. The backing paper if from Papermania and DCWV. Backed onto Purple card stock. A Craftwork Card sentiment, some paper roses and Prima flowers layered up together. Purple nailheads and a Marianne die cut flourish.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this sketch.

More Indigo Blu

Following on from yesterdays card, I would like to show you 2 more cards made with the new Indigo Blu stamps.
This firsst one shows the gorgeous Butterfly stamp on the Grand Tour II plate. Possibly a bit difficult to see as I used Pearlescent ink. Matted onto card and a flower added. Quite simple and elegant.
This next one is a little out of my comfort zone. The figure in the middle was stamped in stazon on mirri card as was the postage along the bottom of the tag. The quote in the bottom right hand corner was stamped and embossed in silver. The tag was sprayed with Mica spray.

All the goodies and Indigo Blu stamps used can be bought from The Stamp Pad

Indigo Blu

Hello

I would like to share with you this morning a card made with the new stamps from a new company called Indigo Blu. This company was set up by the very talented Kay Halliwell-Sutton.
This card uses the cathedral image from the Grand Tour II plate of stamps and the quote. Both were stamped in black and the n embossed with black powder. These were then die cut using nesties Fleur De lis rectangles and then gently inked with pink distress inks whilst still in the die. The die cuts were layered onto grey card, with a peel off in the top right hand corner. a length of red satin ribbon at the bottom and three red 'nail heads'. Finished off with small black adhesive gems in the corners.
I know not all of these stamps are to everyone's taste, however there is definately something for everone.

Christmas Cards

Hi There

Following on from yesterdays Lili of the Valley challenge of using Red, White and Green. I have done 2 more Christmas cards along the same theme. This time I have used a stamp from Nellie Snellen.
This stamped image was die cut with Nesties Labels 23, as was the Red card stock mat. The backing papers are from Craftwork Cards Christmas Warren collection. Prima rose and poinsetta layered up and 2 prima leaves finish it off.

This card was again the same stamped image and mat, this time die cut with Nesties Labels 4. Christmas Warren backing paper, layered onto red card stock. The image has been coloured with promarkers and pearl pen highlights the snowflakes. Glamour dust on her hat and on the snow on the tree branch. On this card I have used a spray of red flowers and also layered up a prima Pointsetta. I have added red gems in the top right and bottom left of the card.

I hope you like the two variations of the same card.

Thanks

Lili of The Valley

Hello there

I would like to show you my entry for this weeks Lili of the Valley challenge. The theme this week is 'Red, White and Green'
This is using on of the LOTV die cuts. However, on the actual die cut the tree and ladders were just in black and white, and didn't quite suit the finished card. So I coloured them in with my promarkers. Then I also added glitter to his christmas hat and pom pom.
The papers are from Craftwork Cards Christmas Warren collection. Small red gems in each corner of the die cut and green Card Candy top right and bottom left. I love the fact that because the papers were from the same collection, they all go together really well.
Hope you like my take on this challenge.

Lili of The Valley

Hello

This is card I have made with another Lili of the Valley image. I know another one, but I am loving the 'colouring in' at the moment.
The image was coloured in with Promarkers, and die cut with nesties Labels 18. The papers are from DCWV stack Mariposa, coral coloured card stock and Prima leaves and flowers. 3 raspberry candy dots and room for a message. Beware I have been stamping and colouring lots of SWALK and LOTV images recently so there may be more to come !

Ssssh Christmas!

Hi

Today I would like to show you a couple of Christmas cards I made with an Elusive Images set of stamps.
This first card is an A5 landscape card. The mushroom card was edged with a scalloped border punch as was the holographic card mat. The image was stamped and embossed in white onto a piece of vellum. This was attached, with brads, to a piece of mirri card, which had been coloured with alcohol inks. This was then layered onto a fleur de lis rectangle cut with a nestie. Then the verse was stamped and embossed again in white onto a tag. Some brown ribbon finished it off.

This card is one of my favourites (at the moment!) It is an A6 card, layered up with silver mirri card. The mat is some pastel blue pearlescent card which has cut and embossed with a Marianne die. The small image was stamped onto white card and embossed in silver, then cut out using a circle punch. This was then layered onto a piece of silver mirri which had been cut with a Nellie die cut. All the cutting was done through my Big Shot.
This last card is another of my favourites, although it doesn't show up very well being photographed. This is the larger of the three stamps, with text and an image superimposed over the top. The card had been die cut with Nesties Labels 20, the image was then stamped in versamark and inked over the top. This was layered onto another of the Marianne dies and the card backed with some white handmade paper with glittery leaves on. A few adhesive gems finish it off.

Hope you like this. I will try and do some more with my other set of these stamps.

Missing You

Hi There

As I have been playing a lot with my Lili of the Valley stamps and die cuts this week I thought I would show another card I have made with a missing you theme. This is for a friend of mine who had to move south with her hubbies work. We don't see each other as often as we would like, but when we do, we sure like to make up for things!
When we were younger, and getting ready to go out, my dad always said that we looked like angels! Awww til he added, that no one knew what we were planning, How rude! So I felt an angel was appropriate.
The background papers are from DCWV and papermainia. Matted onto purple card stock. Hydrangea flowers by Prima attached with purple brads. Lili of the Valley Die cut and Lili ticket stamped onto white card with Memories wording on it. finished off with some 'nail head's'. These are small metal-like self adhesive sticky things. Kind of like brads with no legs! ? !
I will be sending this to my friend with details of our next meet up! Probably NEC in November, halfway between us both and we get a day out!

Lili of The Valley

Hello again

Well here I have another of the gorgeous images from Lili of The Valley.
This time the image has been die cut with Nesties Labels 9, as has the mat in Purple metallic cardstock. Instead of layering them up directly on top of each other, I turned the bottom mat 90 degrees to give a slightly different look. The background paper is from DCWV Pocket of Posies stack. Metallic green cardstock leaf flourish. Prima flowers, some purple ribbon and rik rak finished the card off.

SWALK

Sealed with a Loving Kiss.

I am loving this range of images. They are so cute and are great for colouring in with my promarkers.
This image was coloured, and then die cut with Nesties Labels 18 on my Big Shot, as was the blue bazzill cardstock mat. The background papers are from DCWV Far East Stack. The flowers are 2 coordinating prima flowers, stickled on the edges and held in place with a large blue gem brad. A metallic green flourish, die cut with a Marianne die and then 6 Basic Grey Blue Pearls top right and bottom left finish off the card.

I am not too sure on this card and would appreciate any comments on it.

Thanks

Hi There

Good morning

I hope you all had a great weekend. I went to a friends 50th and lets just say lots of fun was had by all!
You may remember me saying that I got 20 images free with a magazine in the summer. Well now most of the images are colored in, I have been playing with actually making them up into cards. I went to the Craft show in Manchester last weekend and was amazed by the beautiful sample on the Lili of the Valley stall. So much so that i ended up buying a few stamps. Ooops.
This card was made with a Lili of the Valley image, coloured with pormarkers. This was then die cut with my Nesties Labels 1, matted onto a coral pink cardstock. The pink background papers are from the DCWV Mariposa stack. Some DCWV metallic card with more Mariposa papers on, border punched with the Martha Stewart loops punch. Pink Prima Got Flowers and a cream and 2 pink roses. A bit of stickles here and there and a cute card.

I think I am now finally getting over my fear of using my flowers, I didn't want to use them in case I ran out, but there are so many gorgeous ones available now, that I have to use them to make room for some new ones. Am I the only one who can now cut up paper and use flowers without breaking into a sweat??

Warren!

Hi There

I want to show you a card with the latest Warren goodies from Craftwork Cards. I am sooo loving Warren.
This is a 5" square card, mat of green cardstock. A strip of red gingham paper and then a Warren Die Cut. 4 Red candi in the corners and a quick and simple, but still effective Christmas card.

This card was lovely and easy to do. I love my card making, but at times like Christmas when we have a lot to do, speed  and ease can sometimes win the day :) This was a tall, slim card. A strip of the striped paper, attaching the die cut, but making sure it is not too high up (This way the card will fit in a DL envelope!). Attached a die cut flower and sentiment , a few card candi and another cute christmas cards.

Anyway, Here is may card for this weeks Lili of the Valley challenge. The theme is 'Missing you'.
I love this stamp, its sooo cute. The stamp was colored with my Promarkers then the whiteness taken off with Bundled sage distress ink. The image was die cut on my big shot using Nesties Labels 10, as was the blue backing. The background paper was from the DCWV Far East stack. Three blue flowers and some multicolored fibers finish the card off.

A canvas

Hi there

Well hopefully this post publishes as I want it too, thursday morning!
This is a canvas I made in a workshop run by a good friend of mine, Julie Dawson, over at The Stamp Pad, in Saddleworth.
The canvas is an 8x8"canvas. This was painted quite roughly with aubergine paint and then dry brushed with white acrylic paint. The squares of paper are from a range by Paper Artsy called Thornden Hall. The paper came in the 2" squares as a sampler of the full 12x12" range. All we had to do was to trim them down individually! Not as simple as it seemed! I mis-measured one square and then had to redo the rest to match!
Each square was the decorated, the middle on was stamped, some had glossy accents put on sections to highlight them. Two corner ones had accent beads added.

Cogs and things were inked to match and added, Tim Holtz frangments were added to show sections and then it was finished off with some beaded trim.

When I saw it i didn't like it at all and attached it, thinking I would pull it off at home later, but once on, I love it. In my bedroom on the wall, when the sun shines!, it just kind of dances in the light!
