Niece's Birthday

Hi There

Well after not crafting for a week or so, I had all day yesterday to watch QVC's craft day and craft. So why did I feel rotten and go to bed for 2 hours in the afternoon????
Got up and had something to eat, then went to play for an hour or so.

This is the card I made for my niece's birthday. The backing papers are from Kars Xmas stack, they were green and ivory, but a quick wipe over with Tattered Rose distress ink and they changed colour to just what I wanted! The SWALK image was again coloured in with my Promarkers and die cut with my Big Shot using Nesties Labels 1. The backing die sut was not quick the right shade of pale pink so I again changed it with my distress inks. Can you tell I like them! Some pale pink ribbon around the spine and a really cute card for a fab niece.
Apart from the stamped image all my goodies were bought from The Stamp Pad in Saddleworth.

Christmas Goodies

Well hello there.

Just wanted to let you all know what goodies I got from my Dear Hubby and my boys for Christmas.
They know that I love crafting, so they went to my favourite Craft Shop, The Stamp Pad in Saddleworth. There they had a word with Gwen, the owner and bought me a EKSuccess Circle sisscor (i saw this being demo'd in November and thought it was fabby), some Cutterbee reverse Tweezers (they are closed, unless you squeeze them, fabby for if you need something to stay together whilst the glue sets). An EKSuccess edger punch, these are so easy to use and a Pink Bind It All tool kit. Apparentley these were on special offer at almost half price, so he got me this so I can just grab and go when I am going to a class or crop. I think he gets fed up of me running around at the last min looking for things! !

Hope you all got something good from Santa, and if he left you some money, why not pop along to the Stamp Pad in the New Year to spend your pennies on some fab goodies for yourself. Sale starts 4th Jan, leave some goodies for me!

Mojo Monday 171

Hello there

Hope you have all had a fantastic and peaceful Christmas, and Santa brought you what you wanted!
I have not done much crafting, been far to busy cooking and sorting things out for family.

Today I have been playing as I have a number of birthdays coming up. So I have used the Mojo Monday sketch to try and get the crafting mojo up and working again.

I have used an 8x8 square card, the backsground spotted card is the gorgeous BoBunny, the pink paper is Basic Grey. The image is a SWALK stamp, stamped and coloured in with my Promarkers. I love these stamps as they as soo good for so many occassions.the scentiment is a peel off on white card, inked with Tattered Rose distress ink and then they were die cut using my Nesties, circles and scalloped circles.

Hope you like this card.

Mojo Monday 170

Well here is my effort for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.

I decided to stay away from festive cards as I feel all christmased out today!
The paper is BoBunny Skyblue beadboard, which I have had for a while, waiting for the 'right' card to use it on.
The shapes were cut with my nesties on my bigshot. Two things I couldn't live without!
The die cut us a Lili of the Valley, a bored boy, sounds just about right for a 13year old!

Hope you enjoy my card today.
All comments appreciated.

A Bookmark / Card

Hello there

I have made a card for a friend of mine who has a birthday in December. I decided not to make it very chrsitmassy so decide to go with a card with snowflakes on. The stamps i used were by Elusive Images, an A4 stamp sheet with some gorgeous wintery images on. I stamped the background paper with various snowflake stamps from the set in shades of blue, then I stamped the long swirly stamp on the tag in white and then embossed with white detailed powder. I put the long tag on the card, but this is easily removed to be used as a bookmark. I also wrote a message on the back for her.
The ribbon was just put across the card at different angles, cos' I couldn't get it straight!

Been Busy

Hi There

Has anyone else been soo busy that they haven't had time to think????
Good I thought it was just me!

I had a little play earlier for the Waltzing Mouse Sketch challange, I based it on a card I did last year at a workshop. I think I have remembered it weel enough to have recreated it!
This is the sketch for challenge #28

And this is my attempt!

I used some of last years Christmas papers, I think it was Wassail by Basic Grey. The inside was stamped with a green ink pad.

I hope you like this.

Promises

Hi there

How many of you have hubbys or partners who promise other people that you will do a personalised card for them, before they ask you? !
My hubby has promised our neighbour a card for his wife for christmas. Not any old card though, their garden came 3rd in the local Gardens In Bloom competition, so I was given 3 photos of their garden looking fantastic in the snow of the last week!

This is my first attempt, with a jumping poinsetta! Quite nice I thought, given that they wanted the photo of the garden and I felt quite restricted by this. My hubby came in to see how the card was coming along and said, "well thats  not as good as you normally do, can't you do something better? ! ? So after taking it apart and spending another hour on it this is what I came up with. I must admit that I do really like it now.

I again used the Marianne papers and a prima poinsetta, however I didn't like the leaves which came with the Prima flower so I die cut some Marianne ones and seperated them and used these instead! The frame was nked using Tattered Rose and then Nesties used for the greeting.

Special Friends

Well I thought today I would show you all cards made for special friends. I was going to made three individual cards, but then I worries that if one turned out nicer than the others, who would I give that too without showing favouritism? Silly I know, but hey thats me!

For these cards I used white with a hint of gold pearlescent card, die cut with a Marianne frame die, whilst still in the die I inked it using Pumice Stone Distress ink tyo make the embossing stand out and then lightly coloured the background panel in using the same. I then did the stamped image using Pumice Stone. The Stamp is by Inkadinkadoo bought from The Stamp Pad, it was on special offer so what is a crafter to do???
The card base is A4 pearlescent folded in half. The background paper is from the Christmas Marianne paper packs I then printed the sentiment on the computer, die cut with my nesties (beaded ovals) inked with the same ink to tie in. I then layered up some Prima poinsetta flowers and leaves, stuck them on with Pinflair glue. I was very unsure about this glue, but now I am absolutly hooked! ! It acts just like silicone, but without the smell! And you can put it into a syringe for accurate application (rather than getting it everywhere as I usually do! )
I added some ribbon and a knot (struggle with bows!) and a few gems on the die cut.

Here are the other variations I did. Hope my favourite friends liked them too, lets just hope they don't prefer each others?

Hi There

Hello Again

Well this is another card which I made at the Stamp Pad last weekend. This card was made using both Basic Grey Wassail and BoBunny Noel papers.
The satin green ribbon was threaded through a piece of cream card before being stuck onto the card. The baubles are cut out of a piece of the BoBunny paper, shaped and stuck on with silicone glue to give them shape.
Hopefully this will make someone somwhere smile, on such a miserable day!

Hi there

Well when is this snow going to go? I'm cold and it's too icy now to go out. Well it is for fun, unfortunatley can still make it to work :(
I made this card at the weekend at The Stamp Pad. It is A5 recycled card for the main card. The fabby new BoBunny Christmas range of papers. The emmbossed panel was done using the Tim Holtz folders. The gorgeous poinsetta flower was made with the Marianne Dies. I am supposed to be on a stash ban but just had to buy this die. It cuts and embosses the veins in the petals and leaves. As it is a die, does this count as breaking my stash ban??? It's not stash after all and it can be used over and over again? ? ? ?
Oooh just a heads up for anyone who wants a Bind-it-all tool tote, They have got some in the Stamp Pad at a really, really good price! Having resisted for about 2 years I saw the price and Iswear it jumped into my basket sooo very quick! Have a look The Stamp Pad or give Gwen a call.

Mojo Monday 168

Hi there

Here is my effort for this weeks Mojo Monday challenge.
I have used a 7 x 5 card blank. The background paper is from GCD Joyful Peace paper stack. The Topper is a Kanban one. The ribbon is BoBunny and I used 5 'nailhead' stickers. All of the goodies used on this card were bought from The Stamp Pad, Greenfield.

Hope you like my interpretation of this sketch, off to have tea and get ready for the big Corrie episode tonight.

More Christmas !

Hi There

Well the snow is finally thawing, even though my boys are still trying to sledge on about 2" of it! Bless them, they try hard!
I have added a photo of a card I made for a 'family' rather than a couple or friend.]
Again I used the Forever Friends die dut decoupage, this time I did the card A5 Landscape. I cut the card in half and then stuck it together down the left hand side for a bit of something different! Matted onto Mirri card and then pale blue paper. I stuck royal blue grossgrain ribbon dowm the side that had 'Let it Snow' printed on it.

Hope somebody somewhere gets some inspiration from my cards

Thanks

More Christmas Cards

Well Here we are again with another Forever Friends Die cut decoupage card. These are great as I can sit in frount of the tv and shape the individual pieces, then they don't take long to put together. I usually have a bag of made up toppers ready for when I need to make a card. This one is just matted onto silver mirri card and the backing is a HOTP paper sheet. The ribbon reads 'Let It Snow' and a personalised greeting matted onto silver mirri card.

Hoping to get at least some of the classess done on this weekends 'cyber crop' over on UKScrappers. Should have been on our Crafty Girls christmas do tomorrow, but unfortunately the snow has meant we have to cancel. I don't think it's worth risking going out in deep snow if we don't really need to :(
Girls we need to have a drink together before christmas!

Christmas Cards

Hi Again

Well we had a fun night last night! ! I had just settled down with a hot cup of tea about 7.30pm whhen the power went off! ! No lights, no heating :( No computer, no crafting, what is a girl to do???
2 1/2 hours with nothing to do, couldn't even colour in stamped images, as it was too dark.

So today I am blogging a card I have made for a neighbour for christmas, may have to blog a few more from this order!

I used a Die cut decoupage from Forever Friends for this one. When I had used the foam pads, as suggested it didn't look 'right'. So using a trick which I picked up from The Stamp Pad, I took it apart and shaped the individual pieces before putting back together with silicone glue.  Hope this helps some of you too.

Mojo Monday 167

Hi There

This is my effort for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.

I decided to use a scalloped card, made usinf the GoKreate dies. I then covered this with some stripy paper, added my Father Christmas image and a Prima Poinsetta.
Looking at this I think my card wobbled as i took the photo! Looking very lopsided, me thinks Santa has had one too many 'Sherry's'.

Hi There

Well last weekend I was at Rosemary Merry's retreat in Cheshire. This has become a bit of a pre christmas weekend away for the group of us. No husbands, no children and lots of crafting. Relaxing before the onset of the christmas rush. I thought i would show you one of the projects which we did.
It was a beautiful box, decorated and a fabby little pocket book inside.

Son's Birthday

Hello again

Well I have made this card for my son's 10th birthday, which is on Tuesday. I have sat looking at papers and images on and off for a couple of days. But nothing seemed right for him, anyway I checked out the Waltzing Mouse Sketch challenge yesterday and this is what I came up with.

It is a large 8x8" card. I used BoBunny paper and a Lili of the Valley die cut image of a little boy playing computer games. I then die cut this with my GoKreate die and matted on pearlescent card. I then cut out the scalloped circle with my nesties and inked and then put on a peel off greeting.

I hope you like it, and I hope he likes it too!

Here is the original sketch, not too different from mine I hope!

In the Swing of Autumn

Hi there

Well I have done another Autumn Card !
This time using the more traditional colours of Autumn. Browns, and creams with just a hint of sparkle.
The leaves are Silver peels offs which have been 'altered' using Stazon Inks. I really didn't like them at first, but when they had changed colour they looked great!
The verse is a Clarity Stamp from The Stamp Pad.
A simple yet elegant card, I hope!
 Happy Crafting!

Another Autumn Card

Hello

Another autumn card from me today.
I like this one for all the different colours in it. Not just your usual 'Autumn' colours of gold and brown.

This is a fabby Bird Bath Stamp which I also used as a decorative border down the right hand edge. Loving this birdy ribbon, well not so much a ribbon as it feels quite like plastic!  ! But Fabby all the same.
As usual the Mats are done from Nesties Labels one. I love my nesties!

More gorgeousness and just a little bit different!

Woah Where did the time go???

Hello again

Sorry to have been so long since blogging last. I had helped to organised a Charity Craft Fayre in aid of The Link 4 Pink appeal at my local hospital on 13th Nov. We did OK, but as with anything, we could have had a better turn out. Some people said that we were too early for selling things for Christmas and others said we were too late! I guess you can't please everyone.
Then after that I had a fabby weekend crafting at Rosemary Merry's retreat in Frodsham. Fri 19th to Sun 21st November. Wonderful weekend and great to catch up with old friends and make some new ones.
I will put some photos of the projects on here when I have managed to photograph them.

So now for an Autumn card. This is a gorgeous one made from brown card and brown Bo bunny double dots paper. A cream card which has been cuttlebugged and then inked and three leaves. Not just any old leaves, but ones which have been die cut, stamped on and then utee'd in a Melt Pot. They were all curly and fabby until my darling (!) son sat on the card and squashed them!
Hope you enjoy the card and I promise to try and update more regularly in the future! Well I'll try at least.

Busy Busy Busy

Well here we are hurtling closer to the weekend, I'm sure we should still only be on Monday!
I am going to blog 3 Christmas Cards which I made last week at a Workshop at The Stamp Pad,
in Greenfield.

This one was embossed with a stencil and then inked through the stencil. Plain Snowflake paper was then glamour dusted and stuck down the left hand side. Simple, but very effective.

The wooden snowflakes, don't show up very well on here, but they were painted with white acrylic paint and then Glamour dusted. Paper ripped down edges and arranged on card. Great way for using scraps of paper up.
This is my favourite. The circle was cut using a Nesties die, the flourish was cut using a Marianne die. Add a few punched snowflakes, a bit of ribbon a you have a card!

I am busy making bags of Snowmen Poo and Reindeer Poo for the Fayre, more about these tomorrow!

Easel Card

Hi there

Well I have had another go at making an Easel Card. I die cut the card base with the Mega Curved Rectangles Nesties. The paper is Basic Grey Two Scoops. The Flowers are Prima Hydrangea's layered up. The stamp is a SWALK coloured with Promarkers. I am really loving these stamps at the moment as they are sooo cute. Again all these goodies were from the Stamp Pad.

More Christmas Cards

Well I have really set to, in making my christmas cards.

This is another Lily of the Valley, die cut sheet. As i have said before these sheets come with a number of square images on one sheet. I die cut is with the GoKreate dies, matted on Christmassy red card. The border is from the Marianne Ole Fashioned Christmas Paper pack edged with a Martha Stewart border punch. The flowers and leaves are by Prima. All these goodies were bought from The Stamp Pad.

Oops Where does the time go??

Well hello again

I have been busy sorting things out for out Christmas Fayre in Greenfield next Saturday, 13th November.
Anyway I managed to get down to making some cards over the weekend. Well one at least.
A friend of mine has recently received some bad news, so I thought I would make her a card to let her know we are thinking of her.

I used some Basic Grey, Two Scoops paper. A SWALK stamp, coloured with promarkers. The image was die cut using Nesties Labels 10. Finished of with a Prima rose and some punched leaf sprigs. I Glamour Dust'ed the puddle and also the umbrella, well a girl has to have some bling!

Keep crafting

Santa's Card

Well hello there. I spent yesterday making up some cards with my Santa's head images.
This is a 8" x 6" card. I have tried this size out for the more Special People at Christmas.
The Papers are from the GCD range 'Joyful Peace' This a fantastic double sided range, that are not 'in your face Christmas' but a lovely muted design. Some of which could be used all year long. The stamps are by Inkadinkadoo and purchased from the Stamp Pad.

Christmas Cards

Hello There

Well the title says Christmas cards, maybe it should say cards in the making!
I made a card at a workshop at The Stamp Pad liked it soo much I bought the stamp!

This is the original card which we made.

I have been playing with it over the weekend, then I came up with a good idea.
So rather than make one card, then another, then another I thought I would try out stamping all the images, then stickles-ing them to see if this worked better.
Here they all are waiting to dry!

Watch this space to see what I do with them!

Christmas Fayre

Hello there

I just wanted to let you all know about a Christmas Fayre which I am helping to Organise.
This is a cause close to many of our hearts, I'm sure we all know someone, or of someone who has had this disease. If you are in the area on Saturday 13th November, please call in and support this wonderful cause. All the people on the day have given up thier time and energy free of charge, including some who have done an awful lot behind the scenes beforehand. The tables are now booked up and promise to be full of fantastic things. Come along, have a brew and even do some Christmas shopping!

It would be great to see you there!

Thanks

Mojo Monday 162

Hello There

Well I have decided to try the sketch on Mojo Monday. Hopefully this will kickstart my mojo!
Yes I know my desk is a mess ! !
This is a Kanban topper and some Marianne Christmas papers. I actually enjoyed this as I wasn't feeling in a creative mood, yet still managed to make a card !

Halloween Goodies

I suddenly realised that Halloween will soon be upon us.
So in order to be vaguely organised I have come up with our 'treat' for this year!
I have made up some little bags with chocolate eyes, pumpkins and spiderswebs, a small Kinder bar and some gummy bears. Hopefully this will avoid the episode last year of kids arguing over who got the most off people! If they all get the same there will be no rows! ? ! ?
The tops have been cut with Black Card using the Nesties Labels 1 Die. These were then scored and folded iin half to seal the bags. The writing and spider web was doodled with a white Sakura Pen, all bought from The Stamp Pad in Greenfield.
Hopefully this close up will give you a better idea.

The Crafting Retreat

Hi All

I have had a number of people contact me regarding the retreat I went on at the weekend.
I promise I will post pictures when I have added my photos.

For those of you who are interested in the next one, check out the blog http://stamp-pad.blogspot.com/ I'm sure it is going to be fabby.

My Great Niece's Card

Well I though I would show you all the card I made for my great-niece Katie. I had had the heads up from mum-to-be that she was having a baby girl, Thanks Laura! The card is A4 pearlescant card folded in half, with some Basic Grey papers, the image is an All Night Media stamped image, Bo Bunny ribbon and Pebbles Inc Candy dots, all bought from The Stamp Pad, Greenfield. The image was coloured with Promarkers.
Now as I have the week off work I should be able to get my house straight and get on with lots of crafting. I did say 'should'.

Nope, still not turnd the photo the right way up! I need help, anyone???

WOW What a Weekend

Well I had a fantastic weekend, only just recovered! !

What is a girl to do when I met with two amazing friends for Lunch on Friday, then we went to the craft shop for coffee and cake. Then it was off to our weekend retreat for crafting, food, crafting more food, crafting ......... you get the picture! ! I made some fantastic projects, all wonderfully prepared for us by Gwen from The Stamp Pad. I promise to show my goodies when I have finished them off, putting photos in etc. (nothing to do with the fact I haven't photographed them yet! )

Anyway, whilst I was on me weekend away, my gorgeous niece, Laura gave birth to a baby girl, Katie. Congratulations to you both, Katie is beautiful. I was kept up to date with the goings on via text messages and photos, isn't modern technology wonderful.

The only problem was when I arrived home my boys insisted that we make a card for Katie. The only problem was we were leaving for the hops in 10 mins! ! So I dug out a Kanban Concept card kit I have had for ages and managed to make it up in under 5 mins! Not my usual card style but when needs must!

Oops not worked out how to turn the picture round. Hope you get the idea though.

Thanks for looking

Gill

Crafting Weekend

Well hello again.

This is just a short post today as I am busy packing and getting ready for this weekend.
I am soo excited, I am going on a crafting retreat organised by the lovely Gwen at the Stamp Pad, in Saddleworth. It promises to be a fantastic weekend with lots of goodies promised! At the moment I am just looking forward to a relaxing weekend with friends, Old and New. I think the crafting may be a bonus. No husband, no children and certainly no housework! What more could a girl want, well except for chocolate, mind you there will probably be that as well!
This is the venue for the weekend, it looks stunning.  http://thetalkingpoint.com/

Going Colder.

Hello there.

Well the weather certainly has turned colder recently.
I set about yesterday making Christmas cards in earnest. I really like this card as it is quite simple and elegant.

This is Ice White Pearlescant card cut in half lengthways then folded off centre. The other end of the card was then put through the Big Shot using the cuttlebug folder, Snow Dots. On the front I have stamped some snowflakes and embossed in Winter Wonderland embossing powder. I then put some bling on a few of the snowflakes. All bought from The Stamp Pad in Saddleworth. A relatively quick but stunning card.

Hope you are all keeping nice and warm.

Tuesday, 19 October 2010

Hi there

Hi there

I just wanted to show you a pisture of a card I made at a workshop I went to the other week. I love this image of Father Christmas, so much so that at the weekend I stamped him out 12 times and sat and coloured him in, whilst curled up by the fire watching TV.

Only he has now Vanished! ! !

If anyone finds him can you please send him home as I have some unfinished christmas cards sat here waiting for him!

Thank you

Ooops, where have I been???

Well after fully intending to blog at least twice a week, I find it has been 2 weeks. I'm sorry, but I have been having issues with my computer. The bl**dy thing won't do as its told!
Anyway, hopefully this post will work!  :)

I was ill over the weekend with both my boys passing on their tummy bugs! (Just remind me who taught them to SHARE everything !) I wanted to craft and make some Christmas Cards for an upcoming Craft Fayre, but my brain wouldn't work. So I dug out some topper sheets I had bought from Lily of the Valley, a while ago.

As I made the card up, it didn't look right so I took it apart and redid it, again, and again! Anyway then I decided to die cut the topper and add ribbon .

Anyway, the paper is from the Paper Artsy Chrsitmas pack and the dies are the Go Kreate Frilly Square #1. Both bought from The Stamp Pad in Saddleworth.

Wet and Windy Sunday

Well I thought I would just update you about my day. I went to the Sincerely Yours Papercrafting Show at Leigh today. I did spend up a little, but not as much as my friend, mind you she only went for packs of card for work! I did get a little inspiration, however it was sooo busy and very warm I didn't stay very long.

This afternoon I have sat and played with Kanban Toppers (Ssh, I never thought I would say that! !)

This is just a large topper on a square card.

This is a C6 card, with an oval Kanban topper which I have layered with Gold Mirri card die cut with Nesties

On this card I put the oval topper in my nesties and then layered it with gold Mirri card.

Last one for today, I used a backing paper from one of the Marrianne paper pads, then the Marrianne Designer doily die with the topper on top.

I hope these cards provide you with some inspiration, I have enjoyed using these toppers today.
All of the goodies to make these cards were bought from The Stamp Pad in Greenfield.
