Another Candle

Good Morning

Today I want to share with you another candle I have decorated, I am really enjoying these at the moment.

This is one of the side views of the candle.
This time I used the image Love Balloon from Lili of the Valley
Coloured in with Promarkers.

The flowers are a mixture from Wild Orchid and The Stamp Pad.
I'm a sucker for pretty flowers of all shapes and sizes.

Again I then used a pearly paint pen to draw small dots on the candle as decoration.
Now I just need to make some boxes to put them in.

A Card from Me

Good Morning

Today I would like to share with you a card I have made.

This is a 6x6" card blank cut from a sheet of Bazzill cardstock.
This was a quick card to make.
The image is from a die cut topper sheet from Lili of the Valley.
The papers are from First Edition Paper Pad - Boho Chic.
The layers are matted on the the rest of the Bazzill cardstock.
I found this made the whole card work together.

A Photo Display

Good Morning

Today I would like to share with you an 'Off the Page' project. The was a photo display I made up and decorated for my Sister in Law for her Christmas Present last year! She did get it on time and has now put photos on it :)

The whole project was a Kaisercraft Kit which I bought from The Stamp Pad in Saddleworth.
The whole thing was then painted with a Terracotta acrylic paint.
I then stamped flourishes in Gathered Twigs Distress Ink all over.
The paper was one from my stash, this was double sided so I picked the best bits from both sides.
I hope you like this.

A Candle

Good Morning

Today I would like to share with you a candle which I decorated with a stamped image. If you regularly read my blog you will have seen that I did a workshop with this technique at the beginning of the month. This is my first attempt on my own!

The image was stamped onto Tissue Paper and then gently coloured in with Promarkers, you have to be really careful otherwise it can rip very easily. Then I laid the image onto the candle and wrapped with greaseproof paper. This was then gently heated so that the candle wax melted slightly and absorbed the tissue into the candle. Then I set about decorating, this actually took much longer that transferring the image :)

I put some lace around the bottom of the candle, then added some flowers from Wild Orchid and some pearl sprays from my stash. I then decorated the candle with pale pink pearl paint in little 'blobs' randomly around the image.

This is the view from the front.
The image I used was from Lili of the Valley - Baby Christening.
Coloured in with Promarkers.
Lace from my stash.
Flowers fromWild Orchid

A card for Mum

Good Morning

I don't know about you, but with all the cards recently for Dad's for Fathers day I have decided to show a card for Mum's, Just because I can and I don't think I could function with out having my mum at the end of the phone :)

This is a 7x5" card blank.
The image is from Lili of the Valley - Teddy for Mum.
Coloured in with Promarkers.
The backing paper is from the First Edition Pad - Love Letters.
The image was then die cut using a Marianne die,
Inked throught the die with Victoria Velvet Distress Ink.

Quite a simple and straightforward card to make, but I love it :)

Another Man Card

Good Morning

Today I would like to share with you another card for a man! This one was made in a workshop held at The Stamp Pad in Saddleworth. This one is more dark and grungy than I would normally make, but that is why I love going to workshops to take me out of my comfort zone!

This is a 6x6" card blank made from black card.
The paper is a bluey grey plain peice which was embossed using a 'bubbles' embossing folder.
The stamped sentiment is from Tim Holtz.
The 'Umberella Man' die was used with black card for the man..
A Tim Holtz 'houses' on the edge dies was used.
The main part of the umberella was done using honeycomb paper.
So this makes the umberella 3D.

The was stamped and coloured with Promarkers.
Then Die cut using nesties Labels 30.
Whilst still in the die, I inked with Rusty Hinge Distress.

Another Man Card

Good Morning

Today I would like to share with you another card I made for those troublesome men in our lives :)

This is an A6 card.
The backing card is the same colour as the card but has been embossed with a 'honeycomb' folder.
A strip of stripy paper was matted onto blue paper.
The some plain blue paper was stuck horizontally accross the card.
The 3D Peel off was then put onto some paptterned paper.
The stamped sentiment was on a piece of paper which had been cut like a banner.
Some accent peel offs finish the card off.

Fathers Day

Good morning

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. My grandad died two weeks ago and things have been all over the place.

Anyway, on with todays card. This is one I made for Fathers day for my dad.

Again I am leaning towards 6x6" square cards.
The blue background was embossed with 'Heavy Duty' embossing folder.
The blue panel was die cut using nesties Labels 18 and then embossed using a herringbone folder.
The banners were simply cut from a blue and green patterned paper.
The card was assembled with a brad throught the ribbon and a peel off on the panel.
Not sure if they show up to well on the photo but I then usaed some small circle peel offs to accent the card.

Patterned Paper

Good Morning

Today I would like to share with you a couple of cards I made at a recent workshop at The Stamp Pad, in Saddleworth. I don;t know about you but I seem to have far to much patterned paper. You know how you buy a set and you love 80% of the papers and use them then you are left with the other 20% which you are not that keen on, or they are the wrong shade, just not quite right!

On this first card we used some patterned paper for the background and then stamped the mannequin image onto cream cardstock. We then stamped the image onto patterned cardstock a further three times. From these images we then cut out the dress and stuck it onto the cream cardstock. The we cut out just the skirt down to the bottom ruffle ad then again to the top ruffle. This then allowed ut to layer the dress up and give it dimension. The same patterned paper from the background was cut for a border and a flourish stamp added to it.

For this second card, we used shade of the same colour and then inked all the edges to bring the card together. Here we used a couple of nesties and die cut flourishes. The panel across the middle was cream carkstock which had been embossed with an embossing folder and then inked with the same green distress ink to tie the whole card together.

Wedding Candle

Good Morning

Today I would like to share with you a stamped wedding candle I made at a workshop over at Lili of the Valley on Saturday. I LOVED this technique.

This is the finished candle, it is gorgeous!

First of all we stamped the chosen image onto tissue paper, and then coloured it in with promarkers.
Then we cut aroung the image, but you don't have to be too precise :)
Then you put the image in place ( it holds on with a bit of lick from your finger) and gently wrap greaseproof paper around it. Ensureing that you keep it smooth and with no crease's in it. Then gently heat with your heat gun, you can tell when it has stuck as the colours go slightly darker, a bit like when you are heating embossing powder.

Then all you need to do is to decorate your candle :) We used some silver hearts ribbon around the bottom and then die cut some hearts, which were edged in grey pen and then glamour dust.We then added some sparkly gems and some pearl dots with pearl stickles.
We gathered up some tulle with a simple running stitch and pulled it tight to for a small circle, put the flower in the centre and stuck to the other side of the candle.

We then cut 2 round bases from greyboard and white card and stuck these together to give a nice base to the candle.

We then made a box to put the candle in, although we didn't have time to decorate it. I may do later :)

This is picture of the candle in the box :)

TOP TIP :- If you buy unmounted stamps and then mount them yourself onto UMount or KlingOn. Place your stamps onto the sticky side and then, before you cut them out, sprinkle talc onto the sticky areas showing between the stamps. This then enables you to cut around your stamps without your scissors getting all stuck up! If you get talc on your stamps don't worry as this wipes off with a clean baby wipe :)

Andy Skinner Workshop

Good Morning

Today I would like to share with you a project I did on a recent Andy Skinner workshop at The Stamp Pad, in Saddleworth. Boy did this really take me out of my comfort zone! !

We started off with a plain wooden box and gave is a coat of gesso and then painted it in. Not any old slap on the paint and paint it all over, no we used 3/4 different colours and did small patches with a little blending in between on the lid. The sides were then coated in a metallic paint and then a crakle medium. Once this had dried, we painted over with a paler colour on the sides.

We had all picked a black and white image which was printed off onto 'cheap copier' paper. We then coated the top of the lid and the front of the picture with gel matte medium, then let them dry.

We then recoated the lid and placed the picture on it and made sure that it was smooth and there were no air bubble in it. When this had dried we then had to wet it slightly and gently rub off the excess paper!
This took quite some time, but was well worth the effort!

We then stamped ind inked aroung the sides of the box

A few different views of the box.

Finally we put a coat of sealant onto the image to seal it and stop it getting damaged. I also painted the inside of the box as somehow I don't feel that it is finished without this. I have also stuck some velvet paper to the base so that if it is being put onto a polished surface it won't damage the surface.
