Ooops Where have I been

Hello

Well when my Parents decided to have a 'do' for thier Ruby Wedding I thought that it was a great idea.
Until I suddenly realised that they assumed I would be doing the invites! ! So for the past week or so I have been surrounded by red and white card and embellies.

I have used White Pearlised card cut down to measure A5 folded in half. Then I Die cut a red and a white mat through my Big shot, using Nesties Lables 17. I wrapped a red organza ribbon aroung the spine of the card and tied with a knot. I then punched some sprigs using the McGill branch punch and addred a red rose.  First of all I printed the message onto paper and then I used repositional tape to stick the smaller white nestie to the sheet of A4 white paper, this wasthen put through the printer.

Hope everyone likes these.

Using Stash ! ! !

Wow, how many of you, like me have lots of stash sat, gathering dust but still have to buy the latest papers and emebellies! !
Well I have decided to actually try and use stash I already have! I know I will have shocked some of you who know me, but there is a recession on! Plus I figured that if I acutally use some of my stash, then hubby can't complain when I but some new stuff. He he he.
So I got out a Fold-Out Album from Deja Views. This comes as a double 12 x 12 sheet. Yes it is just pop out and assemble but I then put hidden pockets and flaps on it.
This is it all closed up and tied with some present ribbon

The three photo mats top, middle and bottom all pull up or over to reveal more spaces for journalling or more photos.

Hope this has given you some inspiratioin to actually use some of the gorgeous stash we all have hiding in our craft stuff.

Circle Scissor

Hi there

How many of you wish the there was something you could use to get perfect circles when cutting out??????
Well me too, until I found the EK Success Circle Scissor (Not sure why its a scissor, its more of a blade ).
I saw this demo'd at The Stamp Pad, at the end of last year. I played with it and decided that I HAD TO HAVE ONE! !
My dear hubby and 2 boys went up to said Stamp Pad on Christmas Eve to buy one for me :) They had asked Gwen to let them know when she got some more in stock and she had phoned late on on the 23rd Dec. to say they had just arrived. Over Christmas they couldn't see what the fuss was, it cut circles, big deal. However when I had a play with it over the last few days, they are really impressed!
You can cut circlesfrom 1" to 6" in increments of 1/16th of an inch.
As you can see from this picture you can even cut border 1/16th of an inch wide! ! It is so easy to use and doesn't put any stress or strain on your hands or wrists (Very imporant as I have rheumatoid artheritis in most of my joints, but it pains more in my wrists). Once I started cutting out I couldn't stop!
I redid and old Legoland layout from my boys scrapbook as I had wanted to use circular pictures of the lego letters as you go into the park, they spell Welcome.

If you can get one of these gadgets then I can highly recommend them. Even my 10year old had a play and said that it was great and he found it easy to use!

Paper Roses

Well not quite Paper this time. Whilst blog hopping last weekend I came accross a blog showing how to use craft foil (metal sheets) to make 3d roses for crafting. I had a go and the my efforts are below. My only problem with this is I know which blog I started on, and where iwent from there, but somewhere along the way I have got lost and cannot find the blog again. Now before you all shout at the screen and say look in your history, I had issues with my PC on sunday evening and hubby rebooted and cleaned and did what he had to to get it to work again, only it wiped the history! ! !

I have used the Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die (using the smallest flower) this has been die cut 3 times using my Big Shot. I then cut between the petals taking them closer to the middle. The the edges were curled backwards before each petal was pinched in the middle to give it shape. I then took alternate petals and foled them into the middle 3 at a time, you can shape them as you go. Then with the next layer i just shaped the petals and folded then around the bud made first. The did the same for the last layer.
The photos don't really do them justice but it is really hard to photograph shiney metal flowers with the flash on or off! I hope you like these, they are sooo much nicer in real life!

Off for another blog hop now to see if I can find the proper instructions for you all!

Hi There

Well I don't know about you, but I feel that this year hasn't started very well. I have got a horrid cold and runny nose that will not go away. Every time I sit in my craft room my Mojo gets up and runs away! So I decided to get out one of my Christmas Pressies from my Hubby and sons. It's amazing with so many different layouts and ideas. I am going to have an early night ( well there is nothing on TV!) and browse through my book to see if anything jumps out as being THE thing to try next!

Hello

Hi There

I have been busy this week, so not had much time for crafting. Although I have made a birthday card for one of my friends at work, for her birthday on Sunday.
I have used a 7x5 card, covered with Basic Grey papers, from the Two Scoops range. I then used the Nesties Labels 10 to die cut my stamoed image and a mat using the Green from BG Two Scoops.
THe flower is made up from a large Prima Flower, with a Prima Got flower and ten a small rose budon a stem. I threaded the stem through the other 2 flowers the hold them steady. I then punched out some small branches from a McGill punch. They were attatched usind Pinflair glue.
All the papers and embellishments used on this card were bought from The Stamp Pad. The only other thing was the Stamp which was from Cafters Companion.

Hope you like this one

Hello

Well I did say that i would TRY to post every other day this year, I made a week! ! ! Well that is longer than my diet lasted!
Over the weekend I decided, that as I couldn't afford a Cricut Expression, I had better start using my CraftRobo/Silhouette. It has been sat on my desk for almost 2 years and only used to cut titles or words. I was trying to work out why I didn't use it very much? I came to the conclusion that it was because I forgot what designs I had stored on my PC. So I sat and played most of the weekend cutting out one of every design i had (approx 5cm high). I then stuck them to a piece of paper in alphabetical order. I now have an A4 file A-Z with each of my designs printed out. I also did a seperate sheet for all the border and frame designs that I have.

I have now found that I have used my Robo more over the last few days than I did over the whole of last year!
I would thoroughly receommend it to anyone who has a robo/silhouette to do this, It also gets you using your machine more so that things come to you more naturally rather than having to check instructions each time you use it. I also looked at why I wanted a cricut, when I looked at the cartridges there was always some images that I would not use, so why pay for them???

Will try and put some pictures up when I find some batteries to put in my camera!

Take care

Happy New Year

Hi There

Sorry I haven't posted much over the festive period, but you know how things go, especially with working as well. I had a little afternoon out today, to my not so Local Craft Shop, The Stamp Pad in Saddleworth. Well the sale had started, so it would have been rude not to! Well that's what I told my hubby. Wow, 20% off everything this week, how did I manage to control myself????? Errr not very well. I also met up with some lovely people from UKScrappers who had taken thier first outing to the shop. Hope to see you again girls.

Fully inspired when I came home I went onto Mojo Monday blog and had a look at this weeks sketch.

The card was made with the gorgeous BoBunny Jazmine papers, along with BoBunny Double dot, with the plain side die cut with a Marrianne die. DCWV rub on butterflies and some self adhesive pearls. All bought from The Stamp Pad.

One of my resolutions is to try harder to get a post on here everyother day at least. I do try but then unfortunately life seem to get in the way.
I hope you all have a very happy, healthy and safe 2011
