A Wedding Card

Hi There

Today I thought I would showcase a wedding card I made at the weekend.

The card was made with an 8x8" scalloped card blank. I put a sheet of pale pink card stock on the card s a mat. This was then overlayed with a square of vellum, which had been edged with Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace punch around the page punches. The die cut Forever Friends topper was matted onto more pale pink card stock and all corners nipped in with a fancy corner punch. Pale pink sticky pearls in the corners and on the greetings. A length of ribbon around the spine of the card tied in a bow finishes the card off.

Lili of the Valley

Hi there

Here is another card I made using the freebie images from Lili of the Valley.

Again this was coloured in using my promarkers. The image was die cut using nesties seventeen with my trusty Big Shot. The pink card stock was also cut with nesties 17. The patterned paper is one from the Fizzy Moon paper pack. 

I don't know about anyone else, but I find sitting, 'colouring in' can be quite relaxing and therapeutic after a stressful day at work!

A couple of weeks ago, just before we went away, my hubby took my boys to W H Smiths to get them a comic/magazine for them to read on the journey. He also bought me a craft magazine that I don't normally buy, (Papercraft Essentials). The free gift with this was a pack of 20 Lili of the Valley images. Well a girl has to do something on a rainy day!
This card is using one of the free images.

The image was coloured in with my Promarkers. It was then die cut using Nesties Labels 17, on my Big Shot The Pink mat was also cut using labels 17. The paper is some from the SEI collection, Jolie Chocolate. A strip of purple card stock around the middle ans there you have a card. Really simple to do, yet quite effective. Again all the goodies (apart from the freebies) were bought from The Stamp Pad.

Craftwork Cards

Well I have a few more cards made from goodies from Craftwork Cards. They are from a variety of ranges that this company make.
For all of these cards, the card base is on of the 'Bracket Edge' Card.

 This first card was made using the Sweet Meadow range. A strip of paper was attached to the middle of the card and trimmed to the shape of the card. Then the letters were popped out of the die cut sheet and each one doodles on the edge with a black marker pen. The die cut messages were then backed onto green circle card and then again onto pink scalloped circles. The the card was finished off with some candy dots.

This card was made using the reverse of one of the brown papers from the Fruit Scoop collection. The strip of brown dotty paper was attached to the edge of the card and then trimmed to size. A strip of aqua cardstock was then added to the edge of the brown paper. The die cut letters were inked with a brown distress ink, as was the edge of the card. A circle sentiment was attached to aqua cardstock and then the card was finished off with some more of the fabby candy dots.

Hope this shows you that not every card needs to be complicated!

Warren!

I thought I would show you a card made using Warren from Craftwork Cards. He is such a cute bunny and great to work with.

This is a Scalloped edge DL card which was then scored again to give the easel shape on the card. The backing paper came from the Warren paper collection, although you could use any pastel paper. This was edged with a Flower Border punch and attached to the bottom edge and then the front side of the easel with the flowers standing proud from the fold. Then a length of ribbon was attached to the front of easel.  The Warren topper was matted onto a Large Scalloped circle and then stuck on the front of the easel. Then the card was finished off with some Candy Dots and a greetings die cut.

A Birthday Card

Hi There

Here is another birthday card I have made. This time I used the wonderful Fizzy Moon designs.
This is a smaller card 4.5" x 4.5" as I like to have some of these ready for when my children come home from school and tell me they need a card for a friends Birthday, Tomorrow!

The background paper is from the Fizzy Moon paper pack, however any patterned paper would do. I cut this just over an inch shorter than the size of the card (by accident!), stuck it to the left hand side. Then I cut a strip out off Pick Bazzill and punched the flower trim (from a Martha Stewart punch), and stuck it down the right hand side. The topper is from a sheet of FM cardstock sticker matted on the pink Bazzill and then onto white card. The corners were punched with a corner punch which just nicks in the corner. Some people I know call it a 'lips' punch, others call it an 'A**e' punch ! The cardstock greeting and star were stuck on the bottom panel. And there we have it, a relatively quick and simple card which I think looks quite nice.

Well sorry for not having posted for a while, I had a weeks holiday booked and then my router for my pc died. 2 weeks without internet access has seemed sooo long. What ever did we do before the internet????

Anyway I have still been crafting and would like to share with you a card I made for a Male 30th Birthday. I don't know about you but I find male cards very difficult.

This is a 8x8" card. I have used 2 shades of blue. The paler one, when stuck on was edged with my Martha Stewart dotty scallop punch. The darker card was then also edged with the same scalloped punch and then offset slightly. Using the same colours I then matted and layered the car topper. Using the darker cardstock I embossed it through my BigShot using  a Cogs and gears folder. This was then sanded back to reveal the embossing. I cut the greetings out on my Craft Robo and also the mat for the greeting. I added a cork paper 'gear' which was also cut on the big shot to the bottom right hand corner. A few black gems to finish it off. (A girl needs bling!)
