Crafty Get together

Myself and a couple of friends are hoping to organise a crop once a month. A place where you can get together with other crafty people and have a fun day scrapping, making cards,anything crafty really. We have been looking at the Church Hall in Greenfield. It is on a bus route, not far from the station and has a car park. 
We are looking at meeting up on the third Saturday a month starting on 18th February. At the moment the cost is likely to be between £7.50 and £10 per month, depending on how many we get coming. You would need to bring you lunch, however there is tea and coffee making facilities on the premises.

It doesn't matter if you are a new crafter or an more experienced one, the idea is to share ideas with other like minded people. 

Please let me know if you think this is a good idea or not. Also let me know if you would like to come along then if we have enough we can get the wheels in motion.

Hi There, Long time no 'see'.

Sorry for the lack of posts in December. Life kind of got in the way a bit.
Well I am back and ready for a new year of crafting and hopefully some weight loss along the way. Well I would also like a lottery win, but I guess I can't have everything :-)

I am just in the middle of a book for a relatives 18th Birthday. I will pop some photos on here as soon as I can figure out how to transfer pictures from my new camera to the computer.

A Luxury Card

Hi there

Here is a Luxury card I made recently at a workshop at The Stamp Pad.

This is a A5 Landscape card. Backed with deep red card stock, it was then covered with the red paper from BoBunny. The stripy paper on the left hand side is also from BoBunny. The wide red velvet ribbon was then wrapped around the card stock base. The die cut on the right hand side is Nesties Labels 13. This was die cut in cream and gold mirri card. The stamped image on the cream card is from a JustRite set of stamps, made to match up with Nesties. The sentiment was stamped in Cranberry Adirondack ink and die cut from an oval nestie. The bow took me about half an hour to master as it has three loops, but it was worth it in the end. A red rose was put on to of the bow. A few gems here and there just finish it off.

A fabby card, but not one you would send to everyone :)

Lili of the Valley, Thinking of You

Hi

Today I would like to share with you a card I made for my friend who is poorly in hospital at the moment. I wanted something to brighten up her day, and I know how much she loves flowers, so this is the card I made for her.

The photo is not the best because I took it at night. The paper is from the First Edition Pad, Summer Breeze. The card is a scalloped edge 8x6" card. The message is by Lili of the Valley, it is the Friendship Recipe Stamp. It was stamped onto a piece of card which had been die cut with a Marianne Die and then gently inked with distress inks. This was then matted onto some shimmer card (it doesn't show up very well) die cut with Nesties Labels 17. Yes I know I went overboard with the flowers, but my friend is worth it! So the Loreal people say :) The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts as are the leaves.

I would like to enter this card into this weeks Lili of the Valley Challenge, Anything but Christmas.

I really enjoyed this card, although I would rather have not had to make it.

A Never Ending Christmas Card

This is a Christmas card, inside a card, inside a card, inside a card...................  You get the picture.

This is the card. Papers are from Echo Park Holly Jolly Christmas. You lift the front to reveal. . . . . . .

Another card. Double sided papers are great for this technique, Open the card to reveal . . . . . .

A Pinwheel pocket. This was perhaps the most brain challenging. Making sure all the trees were the right way up when put together like this! The pocket opened to reveal . . . . .

A Little card with a Jolly Santa on it. This opened up to reveal . . . . . . . . . . 

An envelope and a snow scene. Open the envelope to reveal . . . . . . .

A card inside the envelope!  This took quite some thinking about but was another fabby project from the weekend retreat with Rosemary Merry.

Loved it.

A Couple of Quick Christmas Ones

A couple of Christmas cards from me today.

This quite a simple one. A6 card with about an inch taken off the right hand side. A stripe of green paper down the inside. Some patterned paper with a stripe of burgandy across it. A rectangle of the burgandy with another rectangle of patterned paper. Two acetate toppers, one saying 'Peace' and a birdie one. A bow and one quick card.

Another one using acetate toppers. This time A6 landscape card. A pale blue snowy print paper as a background. A stripe of darker blue towards the left hand side. The baubles are from a strip of acetate, A square of acetate with the message on. The acetate is stuck down with a small amount of Glossy Accents behind the picture. A small tag cut from the darker blue card with another picture on. A bow and some gem finish this off.

A Winter Sled

Good morning

Today I would like to share with you some pictures of a little wooden sled which I made on the weekend retreat with Rosemary Merry.
When I was told about the project I was a bit unsure, but when it was finished, I LOVE IT !

This is the finished sled. The papers were by Bo Bunny. The sign and sign holder were already printed on the paper. The letters were die cut and had white doodleing around the edges. These were stuck on with foam pads.

The red spotty ribbon was wrapped around the sled and tied in a knot. I made a bow with the blue gingham ribbon, placed the green rik rac ribbon accross the bow and then tied with bakers twine which was then threaded through the button and tied in a knot.This was then glued onto the red spotty ribbon.
I went  over the 'metal work' of the sign with glossy accents to make it stand out more.

I also went over the holly berries with red stickles. Sorry the photos are a bit blurred.

A length of raffia was wrapped around to make the handle, by which to hang it up. The wooden sled was painted in an off white acrylic paint and then had blue ink distressing on it.
