Craft Retreat

Sorry for the absence, I was away at a Crafty Retreat at the weekend with the fantastic girls from The Stamp Pad, in Saddleworth. I had a WONDERFUL time, crafting all day Saturday and Sunday, with only food breaks. This first project I am going to show you is my personal favourite from the weekend.

This was a Kaisercraft wooden ornate frame. We painted it with acrylic paints, inked with Distress stains, stippled with distress crackle paint and then left overnight to dry. After this we again inked, this time with distress inks to give a really nice vintage feel.  The paper in the center was misted with water and then crumpled up, then smoothed out and rubbed over with an Antique Linen distress pad. The flowers were inked with distress stain and then sprayed with Champagne Gold spray from Crafty Notions.

The clock, swirls, lock, key and mannakin were die cut from 1mm grey board. They were all inked with Walnut distress inks. the lock and key were then embossed with distress embossing powder and this made it look old and rusty.

The photo is an old one of my Grandma and Grandad who have both sadly passed away.
The sentiment at the top reads, 'Family are the Treads in the Tapestry of Life'.

A quickie from me!

Good morning

Just a quickie from me this morning as I am off for a full weekend of crafting with the lovely girls from The Stamp Pad.
I'm afraid its another Christmas card from me again, mind I still have lots to do.

Another square card! Green backing paper and red cardstock, edged with a Martha Stewart  punch. Overstamped with snowflakes in Forest Green. The die cut was layered with Nestabilities eyelet circles. The die cut was gently inked with fired brick and second stamped with a snowflake from inkadinkadoo. A Pri,a poinsetta and there you have it.

Christmas Again

Yep it's more Christmas cards from me again today. Again I decided to try and use up 'old' stash, well last years anyway. The background for these cards is a paper from the Bobunny AnnaSophia (?) range. The front was just not me, although I had used every other paper in the range.

So I turned the paper over to reveal this nice green side. The I inked the edges of the die cut image and then stamped a snowflake image with Forest Moss distress inks. Then I used the same ink to add snowflakes to the green paper. The snowflakes on the die cut are second impression images. So I inked the stamp, stamped on the green paper and then again on the die cut image to give a softer impression.

I have done the same on this green paper, I gently inked it to tone it in with everything else, then stamped snowflakes over it. I added some red flowers and green foiliage to finish the card off.

Hi

Still keeping with the Christmas theme, how many of you buy a pack of Christmas papers and end up with ones you don't know what to do with, or just don't like ? ? ? Well I decided to get some of may papers out from a range by a company called Delish. I had used most of the papers and was just left with a couple in each colourway.

With these cards I used the pale blue with white script background paper. Then the multi word paper (Which I really didn't like:)) I turned the paper over to reveal the dark blue and die cut the Nestabilitie Fleur De Lis Pendant shape. I then went back to the pale blue script and die cut a smaller fleur de lis pendant. Then I used a sheet of 3d bauble stickers to pop in the middle if the design. These style of cards are great if you have a number of card to do fairly quickly.

These cards were made on  a similar theme. This time it was the red  version of the pack. I used the red with darker red script as the backgrounds. The I die cut the nestabilities scalloped square mats from the patterned paper (this was far to busy for me as a stand alone piece of paper). The middle card is a square from the text sheet of paper with the work Christmas highlighted with stickles. The other 2 cards have a small piece of red paper with white script on, and then a 3d sticker added to the card.

Woo hooo not only have a made some more Christmas cards, but I have also used up papers and stickers which have been sat in my stash for far too long. Does this mean I can go and restock? . . . . . . . . .

Hubby says no, I have to use far more stash up first !

AWOL

Sorry I have been missing a few days. I did a Craft table top sale (Like a car boot) on Saturday and was soooo tired I slept most of Sunday :(
Yesterday I went to see my great-niece for her first birthday, only planed on being an hour but ended up staying all day. She was soooo cute and spent so much time playing to her audience.
Anyway, here is another Christmas card from me. I'm loving non-traditional Christmas colours at the moment.

This is a square card blank, The background paper is from the Artoz Winter pad. Lili of the Valley die cut, with added glitter, marred and layered onto Bazzill card. Flowers from Wild Orchid Flowers and swirls die cut from the same coloured bazzill.

A Birthday Card

Good morning

Today I would like to share with you a girly birthday card I was asked to make for a friend's daughters birthday.

This was a larger scalloped 6x8" card. The background paper is from a First Edition paper pad called Summer Breeze. The Tatty Ted image is decoupaged and matted onto brown pearl paper and then white card, which have been die cut using Nesties Labels 10. The tag is also a nesties which has been inked with spun sugar distress inks. The ribbon through this is not actually ribbon as I had none to match, so I cut a narrow strip of the brown paper and threaded this through instead! A Birthday Girl peel off and there you go.

Another Christmas One

Hi There

I am on quite a roll with some Christmas cards at the moment. Today I would like to share with you another Lili of the Valley die cut one.

This one was quite simple in that I simply put the backing paper down the left hand side (Oops really should measure better!). Inked the edges of the die cut and added stickles glitter glue to the angels wings and the snow. Added some blue nail heads and that is another card done.
I may even have enough cards made before I need to send them this year!
