A Wedding Guest Book

Hi there

Today I would like to show you a wedding guest book that I made with my Bind It All and the box which was decorated for the book to go in.
I really enjoyed making the book. I used A5 heavyweight paper for the pages stamped around the edge with a swirly stamp and spun sugar distress ink. The covers were made from 2 mm thick greyboard which was slightly bigger.

The book was covered with papers from Best Creations wedding range. The ones I used had glitter and glaze on them already. I used the sheet with a picture of a bride and groom on it for the front of the book. The back has the same paper on, just without the picture. I then added some flowers in to the front to hide the printed flower and give it some dimension. I then used 2 prima white birds on the front as well.

For the box I used an old iPad box. This was already white so I just cut panels to go on each side of the box. The top of the box was them covered with some fabby handmade paper ( the sort you will all have hidden away in your stash!).

I then layered up white and black lightweight card edged with the Martha Stewart eyelet lace punch. Then I added flowers and leaves to accent the box and some gorgeous pearly swirls. The finishing touch was a prima glittery butterfly and some ribbons along the binding wires.

I hope the blushing bride enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Hello again

Well sorry it has been so long since my last post. Life has got in the way I'm afraid. Hopefully things will settle down now and I can get back to blogging more regularly now.

The picture I have shown here is a 'heritage' canvas I made at a workshop at The Stamp Pad in Saddleworth.

The photo is one of myself with my great-grandparents taken on my christening day. Although they were at this point in their sixties and seventies they never seemed to age from this.

I love this photo, and although neither are still with us, they are still in the hearts of many of the family.

There were lots of things that reminded me of them on the canvas. The row of fabric flowers reminds me of the times they loves to sit out in the garden, as is the bird.

Today I thought I would share with you some more Lili of the Valley images.

This First one is a stamp called Big Present. Again he was coloured in with Promarkers and then Die cut using Nesties Labels 10. The papers are from the fabby First Edition Pads Isabella and Summer Breeze.
All sections of the card were inked with Distress inks.

This second card is made with a stamp called 'The Little Things'. Again it was coloured in using promarkers and the die cut with Nesties Labels 10. A Marianne Flourish and two corners finish this card off.

I would like to share with you a card I made for a friend's birthday.

Now my friend is known in work for her love of shoes and bags. When I saw this stamp from Lili of the Valley it just shouted out to me for my friends birthday card.
The paper is by First Edition 'Boho Chic', The image and mat were cut using Nesties, Labels 18 on my Big Shot. I also die cut the two flourishes from Marianne Dies on this as well. The gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts, and the ones which were a little too pale, I inked with distress inks to match the card! The image was coloured in with Promarkers.

Hi All

Well today I would like to share with you some more cards made using the gorgeous First Edition pads. 

This time the pad used was Boho Chic.

 For this first card we teamed the papers with a fabby raspberry red plain card. The whole thing was matted and layered, the stickers are by Simply Creative. The sentiment is by Craftwork Cards.

This next card is a little different in that where you can see the punched line is the end of the front of the card. The card actually stands on the edge of the Nesties Labels 22. The rest is just matting and layering. The lovely little stamp in the middle is from a set of Hampton Art stamps. These are currently on special offer at The Stamp Pad. They are a fantastic price!

Again this is a different style of card in that it doesn't actually open up! The patterned piece in the back puls out and would make a fantastic invitation. The blank is made from two 6x6" card blanks stuck together and then the opposite corners removed and stuck down. The scalloped ovals were die cut with nestabilities using my trusty Big Shot. Again the sentiment is by Craftwork Cards.

Good Morning

Today I would like to share with you a Twisted double easel card which I made during a workshop with the Talented Gwen at The Stamp Pad. I definately would not have attempted this on my own at home! 

We started with an A5 card blank. The papers are from First Editions 'New Leaf' pad.  The construction was fairly simple, we cut the front of the card approx 2.5" from one end. The smaller section was then scored in half  horizontally, the larger section scored corner to corner. The it was just a case of decorating a matching panel for each 'easel' and then attaching then to the card base. The bottom of the card was then covered with another paper from the stack and then a border of cardstock and ribbon was attached using foam pads to act as a stop for the upright panels. We used the Sizzix framlets die on the larger panel, and then decorated with coordinating stickers from Simply Creative.

Today I would like to share with you a Keepsake box I have done for my Niece. She requested this to put all the cards in which she received when her baby was born in January. I didn't want it overly fussy as I guess it will have to stand the test of time.

The box was a sturdy bought from The Range. I covered it with pale blue acrylic paint, inside and out. I then put coordinating papers on each side and then one on the top. I stuck some fabby baby ribbon across the lid. I have had this ribbon for a number of years waiting for the 'right thing' to use it on.

Around the edge of the lid I stuck some spotty blue ribbon.

The inside was painted pale blue, if this gets dirty I can always give it a quick cover!

Then on the lid I made a spray of blue flowers and attached 2 lengths of ribbon, one says 'Ten little fingers' and the other says 'Ten Little Toes'

I hope she like this.
